Audio Visual Unit

This unit operates to provide the necessary technical facilities for the learning and teaching process of the Wayamba National College of Education.


  • Supply and maintenance of audio visual equipment for classrooms.
  • Formal issue/acceptance of audio visual equipment required by students for extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
  • Preservation of photographs and videos related to academic and co-curricular activities of the College
  • Making necessary arrangements for the use of audio-visual equipment for the learning and teaching process.
  • Keeping a breast of new technological trends, making arrangements for the availability of appropriate equipment/methodology to the College

Other services

  • Updating and maintaining the website of the College. (
  • Maintaining the internal sound system.
  • Maintaining the audio recording studio.
  • Conduct awareness programs on the use and maintenance of audio-visual technical equipment for trainees when necessary.

The entire process of this unit is supervised by the Vice president (Academic) Further necessary guidance is done by the President as well as vice president. The officer in charge of the Audio-Visual Unit is an officer of the Sri Lanka Technology Service.

  • Multimedia Projectors.
  • Video and Still Cameras
  • OHP / Slide projectors
  • Powered speakers for out door use.

The above equipment or services must be submitted to this unit after obtaining formal approval.
