The library of the Wayamba National College of Education was established in the year 2000. The library mainly focuses on providing the information needs of the lecturers, trainees and academic support staff of the Wayamba College of Education. In addition, information is made available to external readers on special permission.

The library currently has about 35,000 publications, including 34,000 reader books and 1,000 teacher’s guides. In addition to that, text books, achievement surveys, past examination papers, gazettes, educational novelties, short stories, translations and a collection of daily newspapers have been linked to the library unit for the benefit of the readers. The library’s publications are categorized by Dewey Decimal Classification and koha library software.
